CLIENT:   Indiana High School Athletic Association, Indiana Criminal Justice Institute & Network Indiana: Don't Buy It

CHALLENGE:
Emmis Community Outreach has a long history of working with the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA). Through a variety of programs, WIBC and Network Indiana have been able to assist in educational, role model and character campaigns.

SOLUTION:
The IHSAA recognized the dangers of alcohol in the hands of minors. More recently in Indiana, statistics indicated a growing number of adults were purchasing alcohol on behalf of minors. To address this growing problem, the IHSAA created a powerful "Don't Buy It" message targeted toward parents and adults in the lives of high school athletes. Here, Emmis Community Outreach was able to work with the IHSAA to get this message across the state via a statewide radio campaign on Network Indiana. The content of the radio messages profiled many of the reasons young people give for consuming alcohol and closed with the powerful "Don't Buy It" message for adults.

RESULT:
Emmis Community Outreach is pleased to play an active role in these important public education messages. The IHSAA and Emmis Community Outreach worked together to make the "Don't Buy It" campaign successful in Indiana.
