CLIENT:   Central Indiana Community Foundation & WIBC: Inspiring Philanthropy

CHALLENGE:
In researching the philanthropic environment in Indianapolis, Emmis Community Outreach built a relationship with the Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF). In working together, CICF and Emmis Community Outreach sought to teach the community about the Foundation's work and inspire philanthropy on an individual bases and throughout the community. CICF wanted residents of central Indiana to be more cognizant of the works funded by CICF and to learn how to begin giving back to their local community through the Foundation. Further, CICF's work positioned them as the community's philanthropic advisor.

SOLUTION:
Emmis Community Outreach determined one way to educate the community of CICF's work and resources was through a series of hypothetical stories that depicted various donors to CICF and how CICF was able to find community solutions to meet their philanthropic needs. These messages were strategically placed on WIBC to reach the target market segment of individuals who were likely to become involved with CICF.

One component of the partnership included a weekly "Philanthropic Minute" voiced by CICF President, Brian Payne, during WIBC's Investing Sense show. These messages not only helped educate the public about CICF, but encouraged smart and strategic ways of giving to the Community Foundation. The on-air campaign on WIBC, coupled with grassroots efforts throughout the community, yielded strong returns for CICF, allowing it to significantly increase the Foundation's assets over a period of just a few years.

RESULT:
It was exciting for Emmis Community Outreach to be a part of such a generous and charitable campaign, and we look forward to progressing the partnership in the future. This collaboration has helped and will continue enabling Indianapolis to grow and thrive.
